Metric. Frank Ocean. Hot Chip. Azealia Banks. Kreayshawn. Saint Saviour. Grimes. Just a few exciting names from a long list of new releases this week. As a fan, I’d love to hear all of it. As a blogger, I’d like to write about all of it. Unfortunately I’m also a student, stressing out about the 5000-word-paper I should really get started on. Besides that I work for a living, try to invest in the people I call friends and – last but not least – I’m pretty sure my boyfriend appreciates a certain amount of attention.

Since I can’t write about everything, I usually pick the artist or track I find most interesting. Step two then consists of finding background information. In other words: I get lost in an endless world of tracks, reviews and videos. Stuck in the middle of the musical blogosphere, I can’t help but wonder why I should write about songs that are already the subject of ten other articles. That’s when I find my way back to YouTube. Comments on YouTube are the best! ‘Listening to this track, my brain turned into honey and it is slowly dripping from my nostrils, ears and mouth.’ Poetic, much? YouTube teaches you all sorts of stuff. In fact, did you know that Lady Gaga got hit on the head by a pole during her last show? Poor thing. The concert was a big success nevertheless. My blog, however, not so much.

Today I’m not going to be original. I won’t pretend that I discovered this song. I actually copied it from one of biggest music blogs around. You should hear it nonetheless. It’s ultimate pop fantasy brought to life. And even though I agree, those are not my own words.
